Porcelain Veneers
A lasting way to achieve aligned, beautifully shaped, white teeth is with porcelain veneers. With this treatment, Dr. Ruff applies a thin, fingernail-like sheet of porcelain to the surface of your teeth. Porcelain veneers preserve and strengthen the natural structure of your teeth while improving their size, shape, and color. |
Dr. Ruff may recommend veneers when you have moderately fractured front teeth. She can also use them to hide permanent stains as well as straighten misaligned and misshaped teeth. Porcelain veneers are a great way to achieve a dazzling smile.
Porcelain Crowns
| Like veneers, porcelain crowns can also dramatically enhance the appearance of your teeth. A crown (also known as a cap) is a restoration that covers the top of a tooth to just below the gum line.
If your tooth is more severely fractured or has other extensive damage, Dr. Ruff may recommend crowns to mask those imperfections and protect and strengthen that tooth. She can also use crowns to correct bite problems, close gaps between teeth, or enhance the appearance of misshaped teeth. If you have older crowns with a classic black line at the gums, Dr. Ruff may suggest replacing these with newer, more natural-looking porcelain crowns. Tooth Colored Fillings
Dr. Ruff can correct your cavities with tooth-colored fillings. These are made from a composite resin which blends in with the surrounding tooth structure. With a tooth-colored filling, you can’t tell where your tooth was damaged. It is even possible to upgrade your old amalgam fillings with the more natural, aesthetic tooth colored type. |

Aesthetic Crown Lengthening

Sometimes, the problem with your smile is not your teeth, but your gums. If you flash more gum than teeth when you smile, Dr. Ruff can correct this problem with crown lengthening. With this treatment, the gum line is adjusted or raised to improve the appearance of a smile.
